Human Traces
During t he lockdown there was an overwhelming feeling of loneliness as we were forced to isolate and leave behind our loved ones.
On walks around London during the lockdowns I came across items that had been left behind - items left abandoned and lonely on the street, traces of the humans that had been there. They begged questions such as Who had left them? Who had been there? Why had these items been left behind"? and, above all, were they missed?
These human traces appeared as a metaphor for the times - waiting to be reunited with their owners, and for happier days…just as we waited to be reunited with those we loved and missed.
